Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Warren Buffett's real estate brokerage, expands to India

The Indian entity will be called Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Orenda India. The firm aims to serve markets across India such as Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, Ayodhya, and Goa.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, a global residential real estate brokerage franchise, owned by Warren Buffet, has forayed into the Indian market, allying with Orenda, a brokerage firm, and will be called Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Orenda India. The firm aims to serve markets across India such as Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, Ayodhya, and Goa.

Gino Blefari, Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, said, “We are ecstatic to be expanding to India. We're excited to help the company achieve their goal of expanding services to all of India's major cities and assembling a team of over 1,000 real estate professionals.”

The company had added franchisees across London, Madrid, Dubai, Lisbon, Barcelona, Berlin, Toronto, Frankfurt, Quebec, Mexico, and now, India, in the past three years.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Orenda India will have access to global listing syndication, ongoing education, training and the Luxury Collection marketing program for premier listings.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Orenda India agents will benefit from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices' active referral and relocation networks, as well as the technology suite, which includes lead generation, social media, marketing support, video production, distribution, etc.

Over the past few years, the Indian real estate sector has attracted global investors and is expected to contribute 13% to the Indian economy by 2025, and reach $1 trillion by 2030.
